The Hotel Paris retains the style and beauty of Art Nouveau
Whether you're looking to splash out or keep to a budget, our Insider has the best unbiased Prague hotel info out there.
Moods
No matter your mood when you arrive, Moods promises to improve it with its whimsical interiors and super staff. Techno-phobes will appreciate the Apple features and everyone will love the 24-hour breakfasts, too fab beds and adorable Post-it notes that act as room service menus. Don't miss the moss wall either.
Arcadia Residence
If you are looking to experience a true slice of Prague life; check into one of these gorgeous apartments close to Vyšehrad, the city's second castle. Located in Prague 2, you aren't in the centre but with such an easy walk/tram route to more bustling areas you are rewarded with the added peace of staying in a neighbourhood. The service here is also unparalleled, probably in the country. They offer apartments to rent close to Old Town as well.
Unitas
Maybe you've stayed in a prison before and so this wouldn't be a new experience. But no jail we've ever seen comes close to the calm oasis that is Unitas. The building started out as a nunnery, was the prision of the Communist State Police (former president Vaclav Havel was kept here) and is now a gorgeous 4-star hotel with huge rooms and lots of amenities.
Czech Inn
Probably one of the classiest hostels anywhere — and definitely in Prague. We forgive them their name simply because the style and concept is so cool. They offer typical dorm rooms, private rooms with shared facilities, ensuite rooms and apartments. It has a nice cafe and is located in the Vinohrady neighbourhood — which is full of hip cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs.
Dahlia Inn
If Czech Inn is for the upscale hostel set, Dahlia Inn is for classy pension people. Billing themselves as the first budget design hotel in the city, they've done a great job with eight funky rooms that boast king-sized beds, mini-bars and fridges.
Josef
Designed by one of the most renowned Czech architects, Hotel Josef is a luminous tribute to light and air. In the heart of the Old Town, the location can't be beat for experiencing the best of Prague. Inside, you'll find sleek style and smooth service.
Le Palais
One of the best five-star hotels outside of the city centre. Located in Prague 2, Le Palais gives you a quiet home base a 20-minute walk from Wenceslas Square. Done in the Belle Époque style, this former private home still has frescos scattered about and all the amenities expected from this calibre of a hotel.
Sax
Time to funk out people. If your eyes need a break from all the Baroque, zany Sax is sure to halt the cultural overload. Sax's design work is based on pieces from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Everything is original and no detail is left untouched. You'll feel like you've been flipped backward a good 50 years but not really experiencing the era, as each room is equipped with a laptop and DVD player and there's a film library in the lobby to rent movies for free.
Mosaic House
Part 4-star hotel, part high-class hostel, Mosaic certainly appeals to a wide range of travelers. Huge (300+ rooms) in a great location near Karlovo namesti, the interiors are gorgeous, the hotel is super eco-friendly and there's a happening vibe on the ground floor thanks to their restaurant, bar and club.
Sir Toby's
A benchmark has been set by Sir Toby's. This hostel has the best customer service of any "classic" hostel I've seen. Located in Prague 7, you'll find both dorms and private rooms and an excellent atmosphere (especially if you're looking to meet people).
