Describe your perfect Sunday

I love Sunday mornings at Bastille market, stocking up on gorgeous food and flowers. Afternoons are all about catching up with friends, usually for a game of boules and a few glasses of wine at Bar Ourq on the Canal St Martin.

Your ideal long weekend?

Hunting down some cool vintage clothes in the 3rd arrondissement; taking in some art at the Fondation Cartier, Pompidou Centre or 104; and strolling around the islands in the Seine, the Ile Saint Louis and Ile de la Cite for a start. Then cycling up the Canal St Martin, stopping off at the cute cafes along the way, followed by a night-time picnic on the romantic Pont Des Arts, and then a day-trip on the train to the Fontainebleau park and castle.

What's a good night out in Paris?

I'd opt for drinks at La Perle, Le Petit Fer qu Cheval or Chez Prune, followed by dinner at L'Office or Le Felteau, and a night of clubbing at Social Club, Paris Paris or Batofar (or go see a band at Point Ephemere).

User comments
Hi, I've been reading the insider, and have fallen in love with it. Can I ask (in such a difficult time for finding jobs in Europe), how could a University graduate possibly find something over there. I graduate at the end of this year from Bond University, with majors in Diplomacy and International Relations (and experience in German, French and Japanese languages). The pickings have been very slim for graduate training programs as of late, and the competition just gets fiercer and fiercer as the various banking and commerce sectors contract, and other graduates are now pushed into 'my industry'. How can one achieve their dream of travel writing in such a difficult time?
I found this guide to be most helpful and a real step away from the usual tourist clap trap. If you really want to see Paris that the Parisians love and enjoy, then use this guide. Great Stuff!
