The Ryugyong Hotel opens, 23 years behind schedule
I just love North Korea. It's like another planet! And here's just one example. Construction on the 105-storey concrete catastrophe began in 1987. Four years later, as locals starved, the money ran out. But now the Ryugyong is finally set to open in a show of the 'prosperity' and economc success of the backward destination. Take a look at this puzzling source of national pride.
