South Australian Vineyards Insider

Andrew is a native Adelaidean, born and raised in the green folds of the Adelaide Hills. Journalist, aid worker and global nomad, for the last decade he has travelled the world (to some severely wine-parched locations) making regular pit stops back in South Australia to indulge in the good life. He's back there now, working as a writer and journalist, drinking through a rapidly diminishing wine collection and soaking up the Aussie lifestyle.

What's your favourite thing to do on a Sunday?

A Sunday brunch in one of SA's alfresco cafés followed by a lazy afternoon wandering around the local vineyards, the evening spent at a country pub over a hot meal and quiet beer as the sun goes down.

How would you spend a long weekend?

When the long weekend arrives, the road awaits and an unvisited corner of the state beckons. Desert highways across the beautiful harshness of South Australia, small towns, the weathered stone of country pubs, the night spent at a quaint B&B or beachside camping ground.

What's your idea of a good night out?

Live music, delicious food, wine flowing and conversation with good friends. Luckily for me, even the lowliest pub in Adelaide's suburbs is likely to have a decent wine list.
