Roebuck Bay Caravan Park is a good option (Photo: Tourism WA)
If you're caravanning, Roebuck Bay Caravan Park is a good option
Whether you're looking to splash out or keep to a budget, our Insider has the best unbiased Broome and the Kimberley hotel info out there.
Broometown B&B, Broome
This would have to be the best bed and breakfast in Broome. Purpose-built, it's more than just comfy, and you'll enjoy having privacy from the owners' living area. With a pool, lovely open spaces and a masseuse on the books, this is the B&B for me.
Broome Sanctuary Resort, Broome
A great pool area makes this the spot for families. The ultimate rooms are the three-bedroom Sanctuary Villas, which have their own lap pools. A restaurant and (pricey) bar complete the resort, which isn't too far to walk to Cable Beach.
Cocos Beach Bungalows, Broome
This little-known property is a real surprise. With only eight apartments it's very intimate. It ticks all the boxes, with nice rooms and pool, and close proximity to Cable Beach, bars and restaurants. It helps that Cocos is run by a really nice couple, Rob and Tamara.
Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome
The self-contained bungalows are beautiful here; equipped with everything you could need, they're like mini "pearling masters" quarters with air-conditioned veranda-style lay-outs. There's a day spa, several restaurants, two pools, tennis courts and conference/wedding facilities.
Roebuck Bay Caravan Park
If you're caravanning, this is a good option as it's right on the waters of Roebuck Bay. If you need accommodation, try the onsite vans — they're inexpensive and have all the basic essentials. A walkable convenience store and bottleshop make it a good choice if you don't have a vehicle.
Captains by The Bay
I don't know why, but this property doesn't seem to have the profile of many others. It is an excellent property with very well appointed two bedroom apartments, up or downstairs. All the mod cons you could want, and walking distance to town, markets or Town Beach. They even provide a hire car with every booking! Check it out, no beautiful views but you won't be disappointed if you want style.
Seashells Resort
Seashells has one, two and three bedroom apartments. Very family friendly with a great outdoor pool. Close to Cable Beach and near to some good restaurants. A short walk to crocodile park or to catch a camel ride.
Pinctada Cable Beach
When I first saw this property I was blown away by the attention to detail that owner Marilynne Paspaley has incorporated into the rooms. Very swish, total luxury, with some really lovely touches. Two lovely restaurants (with lovely prices to match) and exceptionally nice landscaped gardens. Not a huge pool but you could always choose a courtyard studio with its own private plunge pool.
The Pearle
We choose The Pearle for our Christmas getaway. The three bedroom 'pavillions' are fantastic. Each room has its own bathroom, a great big kitchen, dining and lounge area and your own private lap pool. Great for three couples. Two separate decking areas (with a BBQ in one) make for great outdoor entertaining.
Moonlight Bay Suites
A true waterside property overlooking the beautiful Roebuck Bay. One and two bedroom suites, with many that overlook the water, charge back facilities to Matso's Broome Brewery and Café and a great pool. Easy walking distance to town centre, locally owned. Take insect repellant, the sandflies are friendly!
