Hot dog eating champion downs 68 dogs in 10 minutes , On Saturday Independence Day was celebrated in the United States. And nothing says America like gross overindulgence, especially where carbohydrates and condiments are concerned. Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, an institution on New York's Coney Island since 1916, holds a competition every July 4th to see who can eat the most wieners, buns 'n all, in ten minutes. This was the 94th annual hot dog eating championship.

Would you stand up in-flight to save money? , A privately-owned airline in China is seeking government approval on a scheme that will give passengers the option of buying standing-room-only tickets for a discounted fare. "For a lower price, passengers should be able to get on a plane like catching a bus, with no seat, no luggage consignment, no food, no water, but very convenient,” said the company's president, Wang Zhenghua.
