Time to hit the road

Time to hit the road

This time two weeks ago I was saying goodbye to my closest friends and family ... and now, in two days' time, I'll be doing the same in London as I prepare for a journey of epic proportions.

When I leave London I will indeed be heading back to Melbourne ... I'll just be doing it on a push bike rather than on the flying 'roo. Along with four good mates we'll set out to ride over 26,000km across 26 countries. With no support vehicle. Yup — we'll carry everything we need to live for the next 15 months on our backs. Things like camping equipment, cooking utensils and clothing will all be strapped to those two wheels. We'll also be completely self-sufficient and rely heavily on the kindness of strangers and the beauty of the world to complete our trip.

One of the reasons behind this journey is to raise awareness of World Vision Australia's Child Rescue and along this adventure we'll be visiting projects that help educate about the crime of child trafficking.

I look forward to blogging from the road, so please cheer us on!

~ Tim
