Cougar Cruise comes to Australia despite ban

Cougar Cruise comes to Australia despite ban

Mutton dresses as lamb for toy-boy boat party

You heard it right — the first international Cougar Cruise, which saw older single ladies (AKA 'cougars') paired up with significantly younger single fellas (AKA 'cubs') set sail last month from the USA to Mexico. And the sell-out was such a raging success that party planners are going ahead with a scheme to bring the fun Down Under.

Only problem? They've been banned.

Carnival cruise line hosted the maiden voyage, but in a statement issued by a company spokesman yesterday, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are not welcome onboard an Oz departure.

"This theme group was not sponsored nor organised by Carnival but rather by a travel agent, and the cruise line will not be allowing any future groups to be booked under this theme," said PR person Nigel No-fun (or whatever his name is).

But this hasn't deterred event organiser the Singles Travel Company and Rich Gosse, Chairman of the Society of Single Professionals. Playing on the success of the original cruise, the travel agent will be pushing forward with a 2010 itinerary departing Sydney (though a tour operator and exact departure date have yet to be named).

For more information on the upcoming Aussie Cougar Cruise, and the Australian Cougar Convention which will be coming to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane next month, check out the Australian Cougar Events page.

Yes the Cougar has always been there but known to the male race as Grab a Granny , Mutton dressed a Lamb , and if your lucky you can find one at the local RSL area disco known as the last chance dance.
I think it is a total double standard, im a 27yr old gymfit guy from sydney, i love cougars and the whole thought of it.
To Double Standards julz, melb who said "I find the name "Cougar" to be an insulting, derogatory term, probably made up by some jeolous middle aged man that couldnt get anyone his own age or any other age. Is there a name for the situation in reverse - Oh, yes there is, several in fact - man, male, macho, cool. Why is it always women who get labelled for doing something that men have been doing since time began? " Just so you know, the term 'cougar' was made up by a woman. A very stupid woman named Valerie Gibson, a Toronto newspaper columnist who thinks she's hot. She isn't. Everyone hates her. I agree that it is insulting. Why do women get labelled when men don't? Every woman that I know is attracted to younger guys, from 2 years to 15 years younger. My husband was 14 years my junior. He died, in case anyone wants to speculate that he left me for a younger woman. A man reaches his sexual peak at 18, a woman at 35 so it should not be a surprise to anyone what we prefer.
I dont really see a problem with it? I mean, its not like anyones being forced to go on this cruise? If thats what people like, I say go for it.
My man is 20yrs my senior. I adore him and NO he's not cashed up but he has the behaviour the gentleman above is talking about. Young boys just want one thing, most of the time anyhow. I'm 30 he's 50. Each to their own, age is only a number after all.
Women are all talk. There's plenty of us guys in our thirties, not super lean but muscular, fit, well hung and 'stayers'. But women always want relationships, we're sex starved and don't want to have to got through all the stress, freedom sacrifices financial stresses and jumping through hoops that goes with getting into relationships just to get sex! We could give cougars the time of their lives but real cougars exist only on Television, and no, just dressing up in a tight skirt and looking at guys with your friends doesn't make you a cougar, you have to bang younger guys. Another problem is even older women are really superficial and only go for the dark guys with dark hair, there are many guys out there who are pale, even balding who are amazing in bed but women pass them up and are often disappointed with their pretty boy cubs. Not all of you cougars look like courtenay Cox, get a reality check. Cougars start up a website and you'll be flooded with worthy cubs

This is an example of women's lib gone too far. If a woman does it she's a cougar but a man's a "dirty old man". (I'm 28 so I'm not old and go out of my way not to be dirty).
What on earth is wrong with a 'cougar cruise'? As far as I can see both parties are adults. I am sure they are much better behaved than the damn Aussie yobbo's that end up on the local P&O cruises. I have fond memories back to the old Fairstar which was a full on rocking ship.....the Cougar Cruise would be tame in comparison. Get over it Carnival....let the old chics have some fun whilst they still can. I'll be on one when I fit the category.
you think older guys are more likely to open a car door for you? chances are theyve been married and the reason theyve gone for a younger woman is to escape that. however i totally get the older woman thing. especially one in good shape......
