Brace yourself: It’s the world's tallest and scariest waterslide!

Thrillseekers take note: the Insano slide is ready for your screams in Brazil.

At the nausea-inducing height of 41m, the waterslide is the equivalent height of a 14-storey building and its riders reach terrifying speeds of up to 168km/h in four to five seconds.

The slide was built in 1989 at Beach Park in Fortaleza, Brazil and has a listing in the Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest waterslide.

A worker at the park, Martha Carolina, told the Daily Mail about visitor experiences of the slide.

"It's funny to watch," said Martha, "the tourists start panicking and sometimes they really start crying."

The park’s website asks us, "are you insane enough?" and advises that there is only one appropriate position for going down the slide. Terrifying!

If Brazil is too much of a hike, or you’re more interested in rollercoasters than waterslides, Australia’s own Tower of Terror at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast is one of the most thrilling rides in the Southern Hemisphere. The ride is 38 storeys high and reaches speeds of 257km/h in seven seconds, not to mention the zero-gravity drop!

I think its silly to compare the amatuer rides, waterslides, roller coasters, etc in Qld to the AMAZING thrill rides in other parts of the World....also the thrill of free falling 41 metres in nothing but your bathers with compared to a 38m drop strapped into a ride doesnt make sense, its a completely different thrill, come on arm chair traveller you are better than this!
