Switzerland's Jungfraubahn celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, having opened on August 1, 1912. This pioneering cogwheel railway claims to take you to the "top of Europe", and that's exactly what it does, spearing through a tunnel built into the Eiger and Monch mountains to an altitude of 3454m.It runs for 9.3km from Kleine Scheidegg to the highest railway station in Europe at Jungfraujoch.
