If you've ever dreamed of meeting the love of your life in an airport terminal (and frankly, who hasn't?), there's finally a dating site to help you meet your match.

Meetattheairport.com is designed to locate other singles at airports around the world. The site launched in May 2011 and has quickly grown to 20,000 members worldwide, according to founder Steve Pasternack.

Speaking with CNN, Steve recalled how he was stranded at a Miami Airport bar when inspiration struck. "I noticed a lot of people at the bar looking for something to do, and I thought it'd be great if I could get them to meet each other," he said.

So how do you meet your match? Start by inputting your basic details, interests and physical appearance, then your flight and airport details. The database then scans other fliers for compatibility.

Right now, Americans, Mexicans and Germans are the biggest users of the new service, but Aussies can get in on the act.

Even if the encounter doesn't lead to anything, it's a great chance to make friends, apparently. "What better time to meet somebody new than when you're sitting in an airport?” Steve told CNN.

"It could turn into a friendship, a romance," Steve says. "It could work out for business, many things."

We can already see the queue for airport bathroom cublicles getting longer.
